China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) started talks on a $310 million mineral sand investment project in Sri Lanka as it eyes to expand its foothold in the Island.
MCC Managing Director Wang Zhou on Friday held discussions with Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to China Dr. Palitha Kohona on the project and several other infrastructure projects.
MCC has undertaken the construction of three expressway in Sri Lanka
The MCC has been working in Sri Lanka for over 20 years in infrastructure.
Ambassador briefed Wang on Sri Lanka’s new investment friendly policies for Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) and encouraged MCC to consider a flagship investment in China-built Colombo Port City.
